Speke's Michael Jones is fighting Gary Woolcombe in January for a British Light Middleweight title eliminator.:celb (23):

After watching Michael's last fight, he can hit!

He's held the British title once as well but had 3 wars with Salford's Jamie Moore whose moving up to European level so he's only ever lost to that guy and he won one of the 3 battles.

Jones will KO Woolcombe.:celb (23): :celb (23): :celb (23):

Thanks Max I hope you're right,I think the two to look out for are Derry Mathews and Paul Smith though am I right?

I think Matthews can win the British title. He might be able to go further too but too early but he does have the talent for it.

Ain't seen much of Smith.

Just found this. Wonder if the Woolcombe fight is off then. Appears he could be going for the European title instead.

Hope so, don't mind him fighting the Italian but not until he beats Woolcombe which he's favoured to do on most forums and maybe then.

Britishboxing.net and Boxrec still have him fighting the Italian.

As for Paul Smith, found his myspace.

Echo says Jones is fighting the Italian.

The Italian was a former welterweight title holder and lost to Mayorga but Mayorga's ****e and his opponents were scared before Cory Spinks(son of Leon Spinks) exposed him.

Hope Jones does, he has a win over Jamie Moore and was about to have two until Moore had the heart to come back. Not sure about this Italian though.

I gotta go the pub tonight as Jones Is fighting tonight.

Hatton- Urango replays are first so the Jones one could be around 9 or 10.

It's not going to be easy winning in Italy,he could really make a name for himself if he does.

He was KO'ed In the 12th.

I'm gutted man, he had the Italian hurt and even cut him and marked up his nose but Jones didn't use the opportunities and was too easy to hit, even when he had the jab advantage the Italian was still hitting him.

No Liverpool boxers with a good belt yet!:Smiliz_Kingz_PDT_13

Even non Liverpool fighters are too basic on the skills, at least theirs a couple of trainers like Enzo Calzaghe and the Ingle's have better success because they don't have the typical European way of fighting.

Seems to not be too much thinkers.:Colorz_Grey_PDT_24:

Liverpool does well In the amateurs at least but I hate the amateurs, It's boring and you got to fight retard and a different style can get you shafted.

I believe he put up a good fight and deserved to finish it but he would have lost on points anyway, still there's always next time.

He held the British title at one time so he could regain that and he should of ept the Woolcombe fight, but probably got paid more to go to Italy.

Jones looks the same height as me and he makes 11stone!

The Ref did count too fast though.:Colorz_Grey_PDT_24:

Woolcombe lost last night too, Jones should of kept that fight no doubt he would of beat Woolcombe and then a shot at the British title.

Maybe he could still get a shot at the British title though.
