No, its proper Chav
haha i don't expect to see anything in my household til at least december! as it should be imo lol
i think if people put them up too early it ruins the december build up and 'hype' of xmas :D
roll on december though, i'll be doing my bit to keep it festive this year
lindylou 11-28-2006, 11:33 PM Putting up the decs in November ... imagine - they will be thick with dust by New year ! :D
The original traditional time for putting up the tree used to be Christams eve - I couldn't wait that long tho' ... the 2nd week of Dec is about right for me. :)
Got mine out the loft today, going up this weekend weather permitting - illuminated snowman and Santa on the wall, with flashing reindeers going round the front bay.
MissInformed 11-29-2006, 04:48 PM awww that sounds great!

Hi Kev
You had me going with the bottom one, maybe because of the subdued light and shadows. :gossip:
I thought it was a real life-size couple and a HUGE candle behind them!!!
Good luck with the tree trimming, Kev. :)

theninesisters 12-02-2006, 01:54 PM Bah Humbuh! I've never enjoyed Christmas due to missing family members so Christmas is just another day for me, apart from that the TV is even more crap than normal!!
No tree for me, no decorations but it does give me an excuse to try and break the national grid with lots and lots of disco 'wire' lights that make the house in to a bloody nightclub :PDT_16:
MissInformed 12-02-2006, 08:15 PM :celb (23): good answer!!

Norm NZ 12-02-2006, 10:23 PM "Just received my first Christmas Cards from 'Relies' in Garston, so better start getting the tree out! But it does look funny with all this sunshine over 'Christmas'!:)
Its a tradition in me mams house to put it up on Christmas eve ...
Whats that about !!!?
wallasey 12-03-2006, 04:21 PM Depends I think, normally the week before.
Christmas trees are apparently a German import and a quite recent tradition over here. Whereas the Yule log is a ancient British/Celtic tradition, and the Yuletide log was brought indoors on what is now Christmas Eve.
Heard someone in work say today there's shortage of trees and maybe not enough to go round. Best get in there early.

That's what we always did; I still do!
The season of Christmas starts on Christmas Eve with Midnight Mass and ends on The Feast of the Epiphany on January 6th (the 12th night).
That's the way it always was before the whole thing got over-commercialised!
jimmy 12-14-2006, 01:50 AM As always Christmas Eve.
