View Full Version : Exchange Flags
snappel 11-24-2006, 09:00 AM I've wanted to get up here for ages, and I finally made it. Excellent views of the Liverpool skyline in all directions, with all the major landmarks visible.

ChrisGeorge 11-24-2006, 12:59 PM Great pics, Snappel. I didn't see the Nelson Monument on Exchange Flags. . . though maybe it's boarded up if they're working round there?

Great banner! And it will remind me of when I used to work for a while beside the Town Hall at what used to be Martin's Bank, in the Cash Center, for a while in 1968. While I worked there we received news of Robert Kennedy being shot, so it had to have been June 5, 1968. I remember walking along Water Street and seeing news that Kennedy had been shot in the newspaper headlines. It sounded like a joke at first as if people were talking about his brother JFK's assassination five years prior, not Bobby Kennedy. :disgust:

snappel 12-03-2006, 04:18 PM Thanks! Went back again, this time in the daytime and had a look inside as well. Not much to see as it's all been stripped out. Some interesting staircases, but that was it. Windy as hell though, nearly got blown over on the roof... seriously blowy up there.

Excellent! Was it before or after the santa dash?
snappel 12-03-2006, 05:37 PM Just after... plenty of Santas still about though!!
scouserdave 12-05-2006, 08:43 PM A bit late - fantastic views Snappel! I love seeing Liverpool from new angles:shock:
The views of Unity and The Town Hall are brilliant!

I was in the Empress pub in High Park St leaning against the bar when a newsflash came on the TV. Everyone in the pub was glued to the TV and people walking over to the bar to see better. The engineer I was with said let's go. I said I think Kennedy has been shot let's see what happened. He was totally disinterested and wanted to go. This fella was so anal and self centred it was beyond belief.
scouserdave 12-06-2006, 07:15 AM Very 3D some of them.
If you don't want to use that awful HDR, mess around with Shadow/Highlights in Photoshop.
snappel 12-06-2006, 04:11 PM Actually Dave, I'm beginning to agree with you. Photmatrix does highlights and shadows as well, I just haven't played with it much. It gives realistic looking photos with the best bits of all your exposures, but doesn't make them look like drawings.
I dont know if this was planned as a panorama because it doesnt quite fit, but I tried it out of curiosity anyway.

^^Good stuff^^ I love Unity, every angle it looks beautiful, but others may disagree :Colorz_Grey_PDT_16:
