snappel 11-22-2006, 09:57 AM Great! Stormy seas are always good over there. A mate of mine one rode his mountain bike along a sea wall ledge further along when it was like that... how he didn't fall in I'll never know...

victorialush 11-26-2006, 11:36 PM Yeh, they are wicked pictures... it shows you the violence in the water... sometimes its calming to watch the sea... them pictures are scary :)
Sloyne 01-18-2007, 03:29 PM I hope someone is able to take pictures, and post them on here, of the storm effect on the Mersey. Goes without saying but I will say it anyway, I also hope they don't endanger themselves in an effort to get the perfect picture.

victorialush 01-18-2007, 03:39 PM Wow, can anyone get a good shot of any wind?
Some bendy trees or something.....
I am scared of going out in the wind, always have been.... and when the wind howls up the toilet bowl (no puns please, it really does, you can see the water moving) - that freaks me out a little too.

theninesisters 01-18-2007, 07:16 PM I hope 'my' sandstone building Sandfield Tower in West Derby has stood the winds!
Our back was trashed :PDT_Xtremez_12: Fence panels down, roof tiles off and our little memorial tree in the corner, flattened. Thanks to the big fella upstairs :disgust:
Lost a number of ridge tiles:disgust:
scouserdave 01-18-2007, 11:26 PM Here's a few old ones. If it's windy at 11:00am on a Wednesday, pop over to New Brighton.

Would you give some tips on what exposures to use?
Thanks.
What camera have you got?
scouserdave 01-19-2007, 12:26 AM Thanks folks. Phil, I think it was taken with my Nikon 5700 a couple of years ago. Can't recall the settings, but it was probably with an aperture of f2.8 or something close to that.

Thats not your headache is it Kev,,I hope its not mate for your sake.
Gerard 01-20-2007, 03:45 PM ^^ Yep ^^ :disgust:
My fences wont make it through another heavy one I dont think.
They're already swayin' and movin' about 2 ft either way if you know what I mean.
The whole bleedin' 20 ft section on one side of the garden and the same on the other side.
I tell you whats twisting my melon.. Its been still too wet and windy to carry out repairs on my fences yet. And for the next few days the Met Office is predicting sleet snow and ice.. Sheesh I'll not able to fix me fences till bleedin April if this goes on ..
wallasey 01-20-2007, 08:10 PM Preston City Centre was still cordoned off today I found after going there today. Strangely, Sir Thomas Street was back to normal although, it was clear that the Met Quarter will need a bit of repairing!
