Monday Feb 1st. Church st.
Nice pic Lindy. Relief sculptures by Herbert Tyson Smith whose workshop was to the rear of Bluecoat Chambers. He made the Gerard Gardens statues as well as the bronze relief on the cenotaph (which features himself and his mother), he also done a few engraved tablets in St. Johns Gardens and inscribed the Anglican Cathedral foundation stone amongst others.

Thanks all. I'd just been thrown out of the records office - no I wasn't farting - it was 5pm on Saturday and very eerie outside but the obligatory ice cream van was still outside the museum :)

Really, yikes I thought it looked moody and romantic, lol I wasn't thinking vampires at all:noid:
Just goes to show you then - evocative to both extremes. To me, it just looks like Pete Doherty is smoking a joint in front of me lens.

Hi Norm
there is a pic of the old paddle boat pool here
http://www.yoliverpool.com/forum/showthread.php?25862-New-Brighton&highlight=new+brighton
Use to go there in my youth, lifting the rocks and in the murky water see a crab trying to get away. Would collect them in my little plastic bucket and bring them home. My bedroom would stink of the Mersey then one day, I would wake up to my crabs floating on their backs.
These are not to be confused with the crabs on Spike's 'Itchy bum' thread.
