I went for a walk with the dog today down Garston Shore. I thought I'd take my camera as I had seen a Bird of Prey a few times and I'd wanted to get a pic of it. Managed to get a few pics of some of the local wildlife and also some of the airport and Speke Hall, not to mention a few of "Vargo".

This is the Bird of Prey, I am not sure what it is, I think it's a Kestrel. I am sure John will be able to tell me.

Nice one Chris. Did you get the bird of prey? I was sitting by the side of the road this morning and I seen a Bary Owl sitting on a post not two feet from me. I never had me camera. Bloody typical.

Even if you did have your camera if you are anything like me by the time you got it out it would have flown away.

Nah, it's probably one of those old religious Hermits (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stylites) who lived on top of a pole.

That's no Berd that's a Dawg!

Chris, I assume these photographs are all down by Halebank, down by Hale Lighthouse, is that right? I took photographs down there years ago, some of the mudflats, the red beacon, and one of the lighthouse.

Garston Shore is a lot better now than it was, although I have always enjoyed a walk down Garston Shore especially as a kid.

Where exactly do you want the pics taken?

I was speaking to Keith, I think he is your cousin or nephew. He lives in Canterbury Street. He was in St Micheals Church on Christmas Day.

Thanks Chris! Yes Keith is the son of my cousin, and does live in Canterbury St, I know that the 'shore' has changed greatly since I last saw it, The view from the approach road as you turn right from Blackburn St would be great if you can get it! mind you! maybe even the road down to the shore may be different now!!!! My regards to you, and Keith if you see him again. Cheers:PDT_Aliboronz_24:

I don't think you would be too impressed by the entrance from Blackburn Street onto the shore.
It has been a mess for as long as I have known the area, although they did have a good go at cleaning the area up in the early Nineties.
The entrance to the "Coastal Park" is the Banks Road side of the allotments.
