I have taken many pictures in the snow and some just come out very dull.

Have any of you experienced photgraphers any tips on how to capture the brightness of s beautiful snow scene?

A bit of sun makes a difference only seconds between these pics but you can see the texture of the snow as the sun came out for the second one. 3 of my sons in the early 70`s
