View Full Version : In the sky above
The last few days have been wet to say the least, they have also been a perfect opportunity for some impromptu taking of rainbows :PDT_Piratz_26:

There have been some beautiful sunsets recently. Feel free to add your own pics of the skys above our heads.
scouserdave 09-29-2006, 08:54 PM Nice one Kev. Here's a few I took in September 2004. I was eating fish and chips with my Mum when I spotted the rainbow. It was gone within 15 minutes.

I see the Garston
Sports Centre in the back.
You should do your runs in that park with all the exercise stuff they put in that park.
Never noticed a Rainbow
today though.

Thanks Chris and Lindylou, I was made up with that photo, no playing with the settings or photoshopping afterwards, that's just the way it came out
Jonny 05-31-2007, 12:21 AM Here are some pictures from Liverpool Airport the other day.

Cadfael 05-31-2007, 10:39 AM Went down to the airport a couple of weeks ago one night just to see what was landing and to sit off in the car. The approach road has all been cordened off and 'the mound' where everyone used to park up has now been taken away too. What was once an enjoyable experience when Concorde came in (you had to literally book your spot with the car) is now turning in to something which you cannot get close to any more - a real shame.
MarkA 05-31-2007, 12:45 PM The mound's gone , that's a shame. The last time I went there, about 3 months ago, they'd cleared all the scrub from around the runway approach lights. I'd always thought that planes coming in or taking off at the mound end were sitting ducks for any terrorist activity. If the taking away of the mound was because of this they've made a mistake as it can only be detrimental to security. Any one of those plane enthusiasts that sat there for hours on end acted like unpaid security guards for the airport as they'd report anything untoward.

Exactly! Plus there are so many places that you could 'take out a plane' along the flight path of Hale/Speke that I don't think it's been done just for that - a shame though.
ChrisGeorge 05-31-2007, 01:34 PM Hi Jonny
A number of your attachments aren't working as I get the message "Invalid Attachment specified." Might I suggest you use Flickr or some other photo hosting service as a number of us do. It is free and very worthwhile... then you can post your pics full size. :)
Chris
Jonny 05-31-2007, 02:33 PM O thanks i noticed that myself i thought it was just my computer. I shall try that. Thanks.

ChrisGeorge 06-19-2007, 06:23 PM Good work, Max, Cadfael, and drone_pilot. Here are a few cloud shots I took in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore County over the last week or so.
First at Union Station, D.C., including shots of the memorial to Christopher Columbus with a pigeon on the explorer's head (some of you may have seen a close-up I posted earlier in the A to Z thread, part of the same series of shots):
