Since the weather was wet.. bet that leather around the horse didn't feel too good.. should of had a blanket on that poor animal to keep it dry.. Good picture though.. wonder where they were off too.. Lets hope the best for that horse...

I'll second that.
I will say that horse doesn't look the best of horses. It's got two bald patches on each front leg. This could be due to being kept in a small place and rubbing against whatever. Also the "riders" look like a pair of dodgy gypo's to me.:PDT10

Theres a group of "Travellers" opposite where my brother works, they have a horse. It's home is 2 pallets covered with an old door, very cosy indeed. My brother complained to the RSPCA and they ummed and arrhed about it.
It's still there now, rain or wind, just stands there looking miserable. :PDT_Xtremez_12:
Could be the same one.

Yes, it served as a steam/smoke escape chimney for the underground tunnel. There are a number of them dotted down the lines from Edge Hill for the Waterloo and Wapping tunnels - down to the docks.

It's a park on Smithdown Lane.
Where the paths meet as a circle in the park, so it was built on the turning circle for the trains. Crown St was the original terminus for Edge Hill.

Nice Pic Taffy, I'm no longer 'local; BUT! I still say Sefton Park IS in Aigburth!!!:PDT10 Cheers!:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
I've never understood how this misapprehension about Sefton Park being in Aigburth arose. I've wondered if it was something to do with the old tram labelling system which was signed Aigburth but stopped at Aigburth Vale on the Garston/Toxteth boundary. Much the same seems to have happened with the area called Penny Lane in for example the Beatles song of the same name. These days of course Allerton Rd shops area has morphed to actually being in Allerton which again it isn't.
The land for Sefton Park was bought from the Earl of Sefton's Toxteth Park Estate. Aigburth is a suburb of Garston township and no part of it was historically in Toxteth. Even the current local council street signs confirm the correct location of Aigburth

I always think of it as being L8.
Strange is'nt it! I lived in Lark Lane area for a number of years and the postal district was L17. Sefton Park is much more closer to Aigburth Vale at the south end to, and at the north end closer to Lodge Lane which was L8!! So I guess it just depends on what part of Liverpool you came from that allows you to claim the Park as 'your area'!!!:unibrow:
My wife always says she lived in Allerton, But I say Springwood Ave is in Garston!!! we have some fascinating 'discussions' on this subject.:PDT_Aliboronz_11: Cheers All!:PDT_Aliboronz_24:

Norm your wife is right. She lived in Allerton. Modern post codes have nothing to do with district boundaries. Even Allerton cemetery has an L19 post code

A lot of relabelling is happening to parts of Liverpool. I didn't know that Crown street is now part of Dingle according to some sites. Linnet Lane is another example ,I read that it is historically part of Toxteth but now it is classed as Aigburth.

yes, because we always approached the park from the Lodge lane we'd think of it as L8. but of course the park goes over towards Aigburth.

Hi Pablo
I also like the photograph because this is part of Liverpool that I have grown to know best on the past couple of visits to the 'Pool when Donna and I stayed at the Crowne Plaza just out of shot to the left of this photie.
The hotel was recommended to me by an American Liverpool FC fan, ironically enough, and we made out well there both visits.
The only disappointment was on the first stay there in May 2007 when I ordered scouse in the bar and found the meat to be tough. Although possibly I should have known better considering my experience in earlier years in regard to British cuts of meat... generally inferior to what we get over here in the US of A, as you probably know.

First time I was in the States, I asked for a steak and was brought a forest on a plate. I told the waiter that I had ordered the steak and he said that it was my side salad. They certainly look after you over there.
The meat over there is certainly better than here, no idea why it's so poor over here though.

It seems to have an issue with red, the reds look overexposed. It mentions this in this article. There are also 15 presets one of which might help with strong reds. (?)

pablo,
You make a good fist of it all. The pictures are clear and steady.
They did say that there was more to this camera than just point & press.
Luckily it is digital so the practice cost nothing but time and your work has already been rewarded with it's fair share of 'oohs and aaahhs'.
Maybe we can have a selection of Santas at different camera settings, you never know. You may start a trend. :)
Where was that before I bought it! Thanks for that Oudeis. I'll do more samples. Not having much luck with this.
