Rod slams Russell

Favourite showbiz story of the week time. It’s got it all: glamour, big names, a tiff – and, best of all, makes Russell Brand look like a knob.

Well, more of a knob than usual.

The big-haired “funny” “man” picked up the Most Stylish Man prize at this week’s GQ Awards. During his acceptance speech, Brand denied the recent sex-attack allegations – “At the time the alleged sex attack was occurring I was having consensual sex with witnesses. Lovely night it turned out to be” – but then moved on to discussing another guest.

“Here's to Rod Stewart, who had a go at me earlier this year for too much womanising,” said Brand. But then again, I did have a go on his daughter."

Later on that evening, Rod, 61, picked up the Outstanding Achievement Award, Rod turned the tables.

“You went with my daughter, did you? Russell, stand up."

Russell squeaked that he took Kimberly out one night. Rod then asked if he behaved himself.

"I never touched that girl," admitted Brand.

"F****** right you didn't,” replied Rod. “You mustn't come up here and boast. I speak as a father."

Of course, you could spend hours discussing the pot / kettle elements of reformed playboy Rod’s comments. But it’s still very funny.

Perhaps what rubbed old Rod up the wrong way was that Love-Muscle Russell bragged about it in public - the mark of a cad - don't remember Rod doing that....ahhh Dad's and their daughters....
