^^Jo Frost^^

I've always avoided this programme like the plague with its screaming kids and parent fights, I can imagine a poor kid upstairs in bed listening to this shouting (from the tv) thinking all hell was breaking loose downstairs.

But i watched it last night and the programme is amazing, Jo Frost has guts to speak to those parents like that and the way she tackles the kids too

Who wants to be sent on the naughty step?!

Get forced to watch it most of the time by the other half, and I have to say shes good.

It doesn't make for good tv though, as every program follows this route:

1. Introduce naughty kids.
2. Teach parents use of naughty step and rewards.
3. Leave parents to fend for themselves.
4. Return to house to find parents have rewarded kids for no reason and all good work has gone to waste.
5. Teach parents new reward technique.
6. Leave house peaceful and quiet...

The behaviour is shocking from both sides but its not uncommon. I've only seen it once so I'll wait and see the formula :)

Sorry - but we had a naughty chair for years (it actually could be any chair and I used to pick it at random). The point was that the kids did not like going on it and having their freedom restricted. It worked well 99.9% of the time and the other times would be when they would get a slap. (Not a very PC parent, am I?) I have raised three nice, calm, young people who are able to exercise self-control.

One time though, middle child, who was always a bit more of a challenge was on the naughty chair for violence to his brother. He had been on there for a bit and I asked him if he was sorry and if he was going to behave properly now he could come off the chair. He said "well I'm not so I will stay here" - and he did. Never quite sure who won that one!

Easy for her though, she doesn't have kids hence why shes so calm in there.
