This piece of public art I've just been raving on about which you can see my two kids happily playing in has just caused the death of two people when it slipped its moorings and blew away in a freak accident,it just shows you that you never know when your time might be up I really can't believe it.

I'm not so sure now because when it was in Liverpool it was in an elevated position and I'm sure the wind could have easily have done the same there.:disgust:

A LIVERPOOL arts organisation last night denied reports that it was part-owner of the inflatable sculpture which killed two women in a weekend tragedy.
The art installation Dreamspace was whipped into the air by a gust of wind on Sunday afternoon, turning some of its hundreds of visitors into helpless victims.
Brouhaha International presented the exhibit in Liverpool earlier this month, and artist Maurice Agis, who designed it, is the father of Giles Agis, Brouhaha's chief executive.
Officials of the company refused to speak to the Daily Post last night, but a spokesman insisted that reports that Brouhaha were co-owners of the inflatable were false.

Artist's despair over tragedy
Jul 26 2006
Liverpool Echo
THE head of the arts organisation involved in the inflatable sculpture disaster that killed two women has spoken of his despair.
The women died when the artwork called Dreamspace lifted into the air at an event in Chester-le-Street in County Durham.
Liverpool's Brouhaha International had sent staff to help put up the structure and held the public liability insurance for the event.
The organisation could now face a massive compensation claim from victims of the tragedy.
Giles Agis is Brouhaha International's chief executive and son of Maurice Agis, who designed Dreamspace.

Once again, very quick to knock Liverpool down as they did before with this Dreamscape thing. 'One of their many lines of enquiry'. I'm still keeping an open mind but if it does find that the vandals were to blame then I hope the scum are found.

Spectacle to take city a step forward
Jul 31 2006
Laura Davis, Daily Post
THE ingenious way that Bollywood directors use the architectural landscape of towns and cities as a natural stage was the inspiration behind the dance spectacular Bollywood Steps.
Created by Nutkhut, a London-based arts organisation, the performance formed part of a national tour. Nine professional dancers were joined by 20 young dancers from Liverpool's South Asian community, as part of the Brouhaha International Street Festival (http://www.brouhaha.uk.com/).

Spectacular parade sees Brouhaha finish in style

A CARNIVAL atmosphere swept through Liverpool this weekend as outlandish costumes and brightly-decorated floats took to the streets.
Crowds of thousands gathered to watch the stunning Brouhaha International procession wind its way through the city streets to Princes Park, where there was a day-long festival of music, singing and dance.
The annual event is the region's largest multicultural parade, with communities across the city joining carnival performers from around the world.
The parade was the second of three about the slave trade, following on from the 2005 event about slave ships.
This weekend the subject was the human cargoes taken from Africa to the New World and next year will mark the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery.
More than 220 stilt walkers and carnival performers from 24 countries entertained the crowds.
The streets were filled with performers in bright hats, flying capes and huge wings. They had all been designed by artist Ray Mahabir, who worked with 30 different groups across Merseyside to create the spectacle.
The carnival is the highlight of three weeks of events across the city that make up the Brouhaha Liverpool International Street Festival.
It was topped off by The World In Princes Park, an award-winning multicultural celebration, featuring acts including Sense Of Sound, One Heart One Voice, Spykatcha and Birmingham-based reggae band the Abelwell Foundation .
The set closed to the legendary Jamaican ska act, The Pioneers, who helped set up the Caribbean music scene in the UK in the 1960s.
It comes following a difficult few weeks for the arts organisation, which was involved in the inflatable sculpture disaster that killed two women.
The women died when the artwork called Dreamspace lifted into the air at an event in Chester-le-Street in County Durham.
Brouhaha had sent staff to put up the structure and held the public liability insurance for the event.
The organisation could now face a massive compensation claim.
Giles Agis is Brouhaha International's chief executive and son of Maurice Agis, who designed Dreamspace.
