At this time the Daniel Adamson Preservation Society will be hosting an open day for limited numbers of the public to view Britain's only surviving steam tug-tender. (A tug-tender is a tug which carries passengers)
The vessel is berthed in the Liverpool Dock system but has not been open to the public before.

There have been a few tug tenders or passenger carrying tugs - the other surviving example is the tug-tender CALSHOT which is preserved at Southampton. However, unlike DANIEL ADAMSON, Calshot was converted to Diesel. DANIAL ADAMSON has her original steam engines which are currently being restored.
The web site www.danieladamson.co.uk has the full details of the Birkenhead built DANIEL ADAMSON which was only withdran from service in the 1980s.
