What do people think of this idea. The big cities in Europe would have a competition, maybe between the top 30 European football cities? The idea is that people would support their city, rather than their team, so Liverpool United would be drawn from players who were born in the Liverpool region (thus Rooney could be a member) or who play for the main football teams of the city (Liverpool and Everton FC). Would people support their city / region in a competition, in the way many people support an England team?
