I'll try not to use as much foul language as I have been using on skybar for about 18 hours but that match has left me totally demoralised about the English footballing nation.

With possibly the largest, most fanatical support of any national team in the world, England yet again proved that they are a bunch of underperforming overpaid lazy sit backering spineless ****wits.

I could not believe my eyes as time and time again the England back row (who belong in a rugby union team) continually hoofed the ball forward 'out of harms way'. A kind of 'if its not in my area, its got **** all to do with me' mentality. This was illustrated perfectly when with about 1 minute to go Robinson, instead of rolling the ball to a defender to hold and pass around, he passes the ball the entire length of the pitch to the Portuguese goalie! Within 20 seconds the entire Portugal team were back in our penalty area trying to score a goal. Which I thought was the object of the game?

England played like a ****ing pub team, they were completely and utterly **** - no self belief, no confidence, devoid of skill, no passion and no ****ing goals.

What were they thinking when after putting Crouch on they left the poor gangly **** up there on his own and er, kept passing to him? And then left him alone to do exactly what? Did the lazy *******s expect him to dribble his way through the entire Portuguese defence on his own and score a wonder goal? It was desperate and painful to watch.

Lampard was ****e, Ashley Cole was ****e. The only stars of last night were Lennon and Hargreaves. And I was so, so disappointed that Lennon couldn't toe that ball over the line in the dying minutes. Disappointed for him that is, if anyone deserved to come home a hero it was that man. He was the only player apart from Hargreves that actually looked like he wanted to play football. You know, football... eg: dribbling, passing, weaving around?

As opposed to Rugby which is played by gaining territory, most often by kicking the ball as far up field as possible and then chasing after it?

What game WERE England playing? They forgot to chase after the ball after they hoofed it up!!!

And as for that cheating skinny ****er Ronaldo, if he ever plays again in the Premiership his life will be filled with untold and well deserved misery. The two faced ****ing ****hole.

I agree Kev, but fail to see anywhere on this site where the Evertonians have been laying into Liverpool players, blaming them for the defeat.

I couldn't believe England's show against Portugal, so many chances missed 'cos they were standing around, seems like they were scared to tackle. Lacklustre perfomance at best.:PDT_Piratz_26:

I thought it was a fantastic 2nd half, but England could'nt finish, and for that I blame Svens tactics. I knew the lads would lose if it went to penalties... Ah well!
