Hello from a newbie here, I'm a fellow Scouser and my passion in life is the movie JAWS, I own what is considered to be the second largest collection of related memorabilia in the world, I've visited the Island the movie was filmed on several times, I run my own archive website

http://www.jawsmoviearchives.com/index.html

and I also had an Exhibition of my collection in Liverpool last year at Microzone in Bold Street.

I've also recently developed an interest in old photos of my own area of Liverpool and it sparked my imagination to fire up a project for a Jaws website I am an administrator on... something I'd really love to see is photos people may have from the 70s with a JAWS theme to them, perhaps a picture of them outside a cinema when the movie was out or wearing a vintage tshirt, even forgotten old shots where anything JAWS has sneaked into the picture, along with stories and experiences from when the movie opened. I'm a site administrator for a major JAWS forum http://www.thejawsboard.com/ and would love any vintage JAWS submissions and memories for a future thread/article for the site, please feel free to contact me if you would like to contribute and anything I receive and eventually use will of course get a credit, oh and if you have anything JAWS related in your attics I'm always interested :unibrow:

Many thanks and Best Wishes

Eddie

Hello back Kev and apologies for posting in the wrong forum (great start eh!)

Just been looking over the old photos here and they are amazing, especially the images from Sirob, wonderful stuff and here's hoping some members here have some JAWS items and/or memories, thanks for the welcome. :)

Cool site with some great picture, it would be good if you could click on them to enlarge them and then browse through the large images.

Hello EddieJaws

Welcome to Yo Liverpool.

You probably know about the recent death of Art Car artist Tom Kennedy famous for his "Ripper the Friendly Shark" (http://www.automotto.org/entry/ripper-a-shark-that-wheels-its-way-around-the-streets/) car, a converted 1982 Nissan. We ran an obituary of him in Ripperologist. If you are interested in getting a copy of the issue containing the obit I will send it to you. It's a large pdf file.

All the best

Chris

Thanks for the warm welcome people and I'll enjoy looking around these forums.

chrismarsden, I'm glad you liked my site, the images do open if you click the thumbnails, did you mean viewing even larger images or as a slideshow? it sure took some time to put it all together, I designed it all and created all the graphic artwork and a friend did all the uploading for it, it's not perfect but it serves it's purpose. :)

Chris I didn't know anything about Tom Kennedy although I have seen that car before, I'll remember to touch base with you regarding the pdf thanks, are you a specialist on the original Ripper then? I must say the Yorkshire Ripper case fascinated me but I never really studied the original Whitechapel murders.

Love the pic Scouse Smurf, that's the kind of one off snaps I'm looking for, now if only someone had a JAWS one, thanks for posting that and intend to spend some time looking through all your old photos on your link there, looks great!

They're deadlier than a great white! :unibrow:

My other interests in our fair old city include the old Liverpool music scene/Lomax etc and my ongoing attempts to gain access to the ABC Cinema on Lime St (a no no I'm now told due to health and safety issues) and the old Carlton Cinema in Tuebrook near to where I live, I've seen a lot of online photos of the interior of these buildings where people have gained their own access and ithis inspired my "by the book" missons to try and get my own photos inside these places while I still can, so far without success.

Cheers again folks

I think the sites great, just thought if you could slide show through the enlarged images it would make it even better, not trying to be too critical..
Cheers.
