I have just sold a hard drive on Ebay but every thing about the buyer seems wrong
first of all he only has one feedback & has been registered for less than 30 days (I know we all had to start somewhere )
he bought it with only 4 seconds left
he is wanting to pay by cheque when I asked for Paypal only & for me to post the item to LONDON GREATER MANCHESTER I may be thick but even I know that London isn't in Gt Manchester:rolleyes:
when I sent him a email saying I want Paypal only or postal orders only he hasn't been back in touch
how long do I wait to do anything about it? & what can I do?
Mandy
If you've specified PayPal or postal order only, then the buyer has to use the specified methods.
It does sound a bit shady about the address. I would stick to your guns and demand PayPal or a postal order.
You should have an option on your item description to contact e-bay if you think it's a shady deal. I know that if the buyer hasn't paid within a specified time, you can sell the item on e-bay again.
I'm in a similar situation myself. I bought a cd nearly 2 weeks ago and I sent a postal order to the named seller at the specified address. I have e-mailed the seller to say I've paid but heard nothing. The guy lives in the USA, joined in late December and has no feedback. I got an e-mail from a girl using his username last week asking for payment to her at a different address. I sent an e-mail to her but have heard nothing. I'm gonna contact e-bay in a couple of days to complain. At the end of the day it only cost £7 inc. P&P, but that's not really the point is it. I've never had a problem with e-bay before, but like you, I guess we've all got to start somewhere!!
Let us know how you get on!!
Yes, Ebay do have advice on hand for stuff like this. Can u not just withdraw it and readvertise? People often do. Make sure when u do, u make a point of putting. Never sell to anyone who contacts u through external email.
're advertised due to a timemwaster!'

Hi Kev & Matt thanks for the replies
Its only been 2 days since the end of the auction but I've got a feeling all is not right
he sent me an email minutes after the auction requesting the total amount even though P&P was listed
I will send him another Email then relist it if he doesn't reply
thanks again
Mandy
Errr... I could be in the market for a new hard disk - what size and how much? (if you're prepared not to auction it - fully understand if you'd rather ebay it then sell it for a flat rate).
I've just bought a MoBo and heard nothing from the seller - whats going on with ebay people these days!

Could be the guy's having probs cashing a UK postal order!
When buying CDs, have you tried Amazon's 'new and used' section? I've used caiman__usa a few times with no probs and the discs are wrapped and brand new! Pay through Paypal. Take a week or so to arrive.
I had an e-mail from the guy yesterday, after bombarding his Yahoo address and his e-bay contact details. He's on holiday but will send the disc when he gets home!!
A great site I use for CDs is www.bangcd.com.
All CDs are brand new and you can pre-order new releases. All new releases are £6.99 and they have a pretty good back catalogue too.
Delivery is up to seven days, but all my discs have arrived in two to three days!
Well worth a look!!
