Am trying to resurrect a trashed Time PC model 637MF01G3 that suffered HD failure. Have replaced HD and installed a copy of the original op. system (Windows ME). Unfortunately don't have the driver disk so only have standard VGA (640x480 in 16 colours). The motherboard=MSI6340, display=s3Savage4. Anybody know where I might obtain the necessary drivers as the Time support site is long defunct. Have searched the net for them to no avail.

Thanks Kev. Think I've found the driver at http://www.s3graphics.com/en/resources/drivers/legacy/software_archive.jsp. Will download that S3 graphics card identification utility first though and check it out before trying to install anything. I'm not exactly confident in what I'm doing.
If its as simple as installing a display driver, it should be ok. If not delete the driver. If its the wrong driver and the display wont work with it installed, go in through 'safe mode' and delete the incorrect drivers that way and try again.

I'll give it a try later on. I'm sat here with two system boxes and monitors but only one keyboard and mouse and not enough power sockets so keep on having to power up and down and swap everything over - it's a pain. Driver is 1.2MB zipped so put it on a floppy. Just realised haven't got unzip on the other machine. Have unzipped it on this one and now can't find a blank CD - bugger! I'll have to download a copy of unzip.exe and stick that on the floppy as well - aaah!

Thanks for that SM, I'll take a look. The driver I downloaded (the Savage4 Windows ME Version 8.20.31 S3_AGP) wasn't the correct one. I think the info I got off the net regarding the display is wrong. Guess I need to find something that will correctly identify the hardware for me. Tried that S3 graphics card identification utility I mentioned above but couldn't make any sense of the results.
Howie is it a pci or agp interface? I have a spare agp graphics card here.
