The Custom House was built 1839, so the Old Dock was not there.

The March 1851 Census shows a Francis Naylor living with wife Elizabeth and son Joseph Naylor at Knight Street, Liverpool. Francis is described as "H.M. Customs Officer". The Custom House was in Canning Place, maybe it was officially at no.26.
