View Full Version : 18stanley [Sad News]
I've received some news regarding member 18stanley, from his wife. Stan has sadly passed away.
There the only details I have, his wife would like us to know that he was so pleased to have found all the Liverpool sites and spent many happy hours looking at them which provided him with so much interest and pleasure and provided her with an insight into a community about which she knew nothing about.
My thoughts are with his wife and family at this sad time.
I've provided a link below which lists all of Stan's posts whilst he was on Yo! Liverpool plus a link to his profile.

I think it is very commendable that the forum was informed RIP Stanley
Death Be Not Proud
Death be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not soe,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill mee.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.
Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell,
And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,
And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.
John Donne
All my love to his family

Thank you for this notification, Kev. My thoughts go out to Stan's wife and family. My mother, still with us, is also age 88, born in Liverpool in 1920 as was Stan, so this makes his passing even more sad for me. I am pleased to know that Yo! Liverpool meant so much to him and that he got comfort and enjoyment from visiting here. We will miss him. Thanks, Kev, for pointing us to Stan's posts here... I will enjoy catching up on any posts I may have missed.
