I cannot believe that a journalist doesn't know how to spell "female". And you wouldn't mind so much, but it's spelt the same in the heading of the website article!
Thats disgraceful

The same paper as thinks a father and son can have the same mother (yesterday's post)? Has the paper relocated to Manchester yet - can we blame that?

Its a real shame that such a good bit of news is spoilt by poor spelling.
You wont catch me making any smelling mistakes:)

Will you all take this topic serious. A huge monumental thing has happened, the first female Commadore has been appointed at Liverpool Yacht Club, so to keep things in perspective, I want to ask an important question.

Quite frankly has good grammar ever been relevant to sailing skills? Stuff and nonesense if you ask me.:disgust:

irrelevant to sailing, I agree. But I'd suggest that grammar and spelling are more than relevant to journalism.
Or thay certainly used to be, anyway ...

Well to give everyone a bit more information, a new president was also elected at the same meeting to take over from the retiring Alastair Soane; Sir Robin Knox-Johnston. The first sailor to sail around the globe single handedly, star of 3 dogs, the man who brought the clippers to Liverpool, winner of many many sailing awards.
So exciting times.
If anyone is interested or if you want to come and have a gander at us leaving the lock: There is a race on Monday night starting 7.30. If you want to have a go at being on a race boat then email lyc_honsec@yahoo.co.uk or come down on a Wednesday night to the marina at 7.30 and ask at the bar.

Ask at the bar about sailing, but for your pocket`s sake don`t ask for a drink

I dunno its not too bad, Its cheaper than going to the albert dock or around town. Then again if its a cheap pint your after head to the novas centre as its a charity and so has very cheap ale. Or even go to the brewery tap for a Caining.
