Billy Fury was a member of the Larry Parnes stable of singers in the late 1950s/early 1960s.

He was born at 8.45am on April 17, 1940, in Smithdown Hospital, Liverpool, old Sefton General Hospital, weighing 6lbs 15oz.

I had a M8 that worked a Hughes & Ellison, just down by Chinatown, A metal fabricating plant, He used to tell everyone that Billy worked there for a while. Any truth in that?

My 2006 Old Merseyside calendar I bought in St John's bookstore appears to have a typo on it. It reads for April 17th: '1959 - Singer Billy Fury born in the Dingle, Liverpool' ! :wtf:

The Billy Fury statue has been unveiled again after it went into storage when then Museum of LiverpoolLife shut. Its new home is near the PierMasters house at the Albert Dock.

Billy Fury was my cousin however I never met him as he was from a part of the family that we never bothered with.

That is very sad. I knew both brothers as Ronnie and Albert Wyncherley. You couldn't hope to meet nicer people. Albert of course is still alive but I have not seen him for a long while.

My son shares the same birthday as Billy Fury, but my son is obviously younger.
