Has the club folded?
As far as I know, it left the old ground (pictured) and was using somewhere out of town.
Howie 07-02-2006, 10:46 PM Has the club folded?
It folded in 1991. See www.fchd.btinternet.co.uk/S-LIVERP.HTM.
scouserdave 01-02-2007, 09:36 AM Bootle FC's old ground. Took these years ago. BTW, I played against Jimmy Case when he played for South Liverpool. Lovely lad, but a nasty piece of work on the pitch:unibrow: One of my favourite Liverpool FC players:PDT_Piratz_26:

Burscough FC (http://www.burscoughfc.co.uk)

As far as I know, it left the old ground (pictured) and was using somewhere out of town.
They left Holly Park citing constant vandalism and shared with Bootle for a season before resigning from the league when the Northern Premier League league said Bucks Park wasnt up to standard. After merging with Cheshire Lines and playing at Speke for a while they are now back on their own playing in the Liverpool County Combination on a field off Jericho Lane in Aigburth.

Cheers mate for the info, I played many Sunday League games at Jericho Lane during the 80's. I played for a team called Bowden Albion, then for Holly Park managed by none other than Councellor Peter Melia.
ChrisGeorge 01-02-2007, 10:13 PM Sad to see the pic of South Liverpool after they vacated the ground. . .
I offer this up as a memory:
Daddy Grod
took me to see South Liverpool
we froze standing on the terraces
on that damp dull Saturday in Garston
with no one else nearby.
We stamped our feet
till halftime
a cuppa tea
and a pork pie
to warm us up
for the second half.

Bucks Park gave me quite a funny moment in 1998-9. I was seriously annoyed with the way LFC's spice boys were not performing and spent much of the season watching local non league sides. I went to watch Bootle v Workington. Stewart, who'd only left Liverpool about 2 years earlier (albeit after about 3 years being loaned out to other clubs) was inexplicably in the Workington side and had a penalty saved by a seriously overweight Bootle keeper to everyone's amusement.
From the North West Counties League:-
Formby (http://www.formbyfc.co.uk/)
St Helens Town (http://www.sthelenstownafc.com/)
Ashton Athletic (http://www.ashtonathletic.co.uk/)
Ashton Town (http://www.ashtontown.co.uk/)
Also from the North West Counties League Bootle (www.bootlefc.com) have an up and running site now.

South Liverpool have made an enquiry to join the North West Counties League, which requires new clubs for 2008-09. There is a blog from a groundhoppers visit to their current 'ground' in March 07 here.
