Hi all, new to this site and glad I found it, most places I go on the net are desperately lacking scousers!
My name is Ben and I am currently in between jobs :celb (23):
Am into Music and Photgraphy and other visual art.. you will find my main photoblog thingy here.... http://www.audioaddict.fotix.net
Dj mixes and tunes by me will be hosted on mine and my friends site http://www.in2techno.com though I only have a short mix up at the moment... laziness you see... check it out though as there is plenty of stuff to download!

Hello audioaddict and welcome to the forum,I used to go to all the raves in my heyday, legendary venues like the quadrant park, cream and the hard dock but my favourite place of all was the cokey.I spent many a night partying on Ainsdale Beach after an all nighter.:celb (23):

Yer ald sod yer :) , The Quad was legendary eh?..
I remember new years eve 1990/1,when a bunch of us here in B/pool (Shaboo) went to a 'cave rave' in the Lakes, there was about 150 that attended and about 50 of them where 17/18 year olds from Wallasey.. mad night..
Sheesh if I was 15 years younger ...

I was in Cream once and this French film crew were making a documentary about the legendary Liverpool club scene stretching from the 60's to the present day.I never did get to see it,it was called "you'll never walk alone" and was shown once at the 051 cinema but I missed it.It's been on telly since but it was shown in the wee hours so I missed that too.Look out for it I think I may be on it.:celb (23):
In fact I'll check some of the bit-torrents and see if I can find it :) ... Please tell me you never waved the glowsticks though.
Good days eh?, do you remember when Thatcher banned the Acid house raves :o

Vicky I remember it well,I used to sometimes end up in 3 beat records if err I couldn't sleep and you'd be suprised how many people would turn up there,it was like our very own private rave. You can actually buy a dvd film of a rave in the quad but it wasn't in the all nighter it was in the little quad, but it can still send shivers down your spine listening to all those old tunes. You can buy it off the quad site Kev put the link up for,you never know you might be on it.:unibrow:

I have checked the samples out on the quad website, they do give me shivers.... I feel old saying to people, aarrggh back in the day ...."you will never, ever have anything like the Quad".... But it's true, I am still an avid clubber now, 16 odd years on from the Quad and there is nothing like what that was... sweat dripping off the celings, the friendliest atmosphere ever (due to, ahem, you know what), DJs playing Hardcore Uproar twice coz the crowd went so mad, the whole 'summer of love' feeling!
I know people who cried when that place came down!

You're not being sentimental about it's true it was one of a kind,do you remember when the smoke machines would black out everyone around you and it went really eerie, and the music would be turned down until all you could hear were whistles and the occasional shout of "come on" and after the crowd started to get noisy again the lasers would pierce the darkness and the music would be cranked up and the whole place would go nuts, you do get a feel of that from the dvd but it just makes you realise what a sad loss it was.I'm made up now I've found someone who experienced it and really understands what I'm waffling on about, bizarre Inc,K Klass, the Prodigy ahh those were the days.:D
