YOU are more likely to be burgled in London, Manchester or Oxford than in Liverpool, says a new study has found today.

The city's former reputation as a centre for break-ins is now ill-deserved, the research shows, as Liverpool does not figure on a list of the country's Top 10 most burgled towns and cities.

Nottingham tops the list, compiled by insurers Endsleigh, where residents are more than twice as likely (109.4%) to be burgled than the average home in the UK.

The city was followed by Hull, Leeds, Bristol, Oxford and Manchester.

Derby, Reading, London and Sheffield were also included in the top 10 most burgled areas.

Would be interesting to see what the house insurance premiums are for each of city's, in contrast to their standings.
