THE photographs on the Daily Post?s photosharing web pages have really shown Liverpool?s many faces off this year.
Industrious Processing, by Flickr user I.carus, harks back to an era where Merseyside?s identity was one of an industrial port rather than the European Capital of Culture.
The tight-knit community that has come together on our Flickr pages has praised the processing in this shot that has helped make a virtue of early morning sun.
Thebouncer?s shot is a geometric tour de force of The Zig Zag, in Liverpool One, that plays on the new Liverpool that has emerged thanks to Grosvenor?s involvement in the city.
The neutral tones and multiple levels of moving walkways is closer to the sci-fi vision of the 21st century than the reality we live in. By way of contrast, the West Kirby seascape taken by Danny Foy showcases the stunning maritime panoramas that Merseyside boasts.
These contrasts are what remains after the elongated festival season ends. And next year, as the environment comes to the fore, the talented photographers that have contributed to a gallery of more than 10,500 photos online this year, will have an even greater remit to zoom in on the physical variety Merseyside revels in.
Every aspect of Liverpool?s Capital of Culture year can be viewed at Flickr photos placed in the Liverpool Daily Post's Capital of Culture group (http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/flickr). Adding your own is easily done at Flickr: CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2008 - LIVERPOOL DAILY POST (http://www.flickr.com/groups/liverpooldailypost08)
