Hi there, I have asked on here before but not had any help yet...

Is there any chance somebody has any photos of 'old' Birkenhead???

When I say old, I mean ideally from the late eighties, early nineties. In particular I am interested in the town centre area, i.e., Borough Rd., Claughton Rd., Conway St., Argyle St. etc...

I am looking for photo's of the road layouts, as well as some of the old buildings, i.e. old cinemas, bingo, theatres etc. I would also be keen to see some pictures of the old ASDA store in town.

If anyone can help me with this, I would be extremely grateful and any photos would be gratefully recieved...

Thanks, Stewy stewycampbell@sky.com

That's not old, Mate. 1880's or 1890's would be old. . .

In any case, good luck in your quest. I'd be surprised if there isn't a website that has the type of photos you are looking for.

I know what you mean. Thats why I speifically mentioned what I am looking for. (not being rude there)

I am particularly trying to find photo's of thing like the old Top Rank Bingo, the ASDA, the flyovers etc...

I know what you mean, but by 'old' I just mean within the last 20-25 years or so..

I've searched high and low and not yet found a website but thanks anyway...

I have a 1980s A-Z which shows the street layouts. I didn't know the ones you're talknig about had changed much - have they?

I think Ross has put some of the cinemas on the old cinemas thread.

Not really, it's just the flyovers really. The actual layout is still mostlly the same, what I am looking for is photos of the flyovers and where it ended in Conway St. just by the Top Rank Bingo Hall...
