Hiya All,
I was browsing through the Scottie Press website and 'stumbled' upon this website - Wow! I never knew it was here!
I was born in Bootle and lived in St Johns Road, in my nan's house, until I was about 3 or 4 then we moved to the new estate in Ford, Litherland where I spent my childhood with my many brothers and sisters.
My Mum was from Bootle while my Dad was from off the Scottie Road. His family lived in Saltney Street, then moved to Hornby Street. They were Christopher REID and Christina DELANEY.
Christina's grandparents - Jeremiah & Maria DELANEY - were from Ballinakill, Laois but we're not sure where Christopher's parents came from.
My Dad always said they were of Scottish/Irish mix but we can't seem to trace them anywhere.
My Dad worked at Blackledge's Bakery, Bootle, his dad was a seafaring man, as was his father James REID b. abt. 184? before him.
Does this site have a genealogy forum, only I don't see one and it would be great if we could swap notes with each other on family history! :)
Anyway, I'm off now to explore the site.
