check out Liverpool yacht club. We're a friendly bunch and there is a race this sunday on the big keel boats. If you fancy havin a go check out the website Liverpool Yacht Club - Home (http://www.lyc.org.uk/) and get in contact with the Membership Secretary: Richard Baldwin to arrange to come down. If you want you can go out on the race control boat Gulmarren an old Norwegian trawler and drink tea all day and watch the race from the river to get a taster of what it is like. Its a good laugh and a day out in its own right.
If dinghy's are more your thing we have dinghy sailing on a saturday at the watersports centre at queens dock from 2 till 5 or wednesday nights 6 till 8.

Do you have your own boat?
I used to do a lot of Dinghy sailing in the Army, we used to use Bosuns and Lasers.
Later I bought my own GP14, but I haven't sailed for about 4 years.
The last time was in Alcudia, Majorca.
I'll have to have another go soon because I miss it.
