Well actually i know i need a website, i had a guy who has offered to lease a website to me, but have not got the full details of this apprently i will still own the domain but not the site, so a bit unsure of this, as a new business it sounds good as there is no startup cost...but i would actually like to own it

Hi Marc,
I run a one man Web Design company Mersey Internet (http://merseyinternet.com). I offer an ecommerce package based on RomanCart. You can see a demo here (http://gingerthecat.co.uk/)
Prices vary depending on the options you choose but are in the range ?400 to ?800.
RomanCart is a well known shopping cart system. They provide a good video (http://www.romancart.com/tutorials/overview/7453532/7453532.html) explaining many of the features.
I can offer SEO services as well but would need to quote for those separately as a lot depends on how competitive your business area is. If it is a popular area you would be better off getting a dedicated SEO expert.
Send me a PM if you want to explore this further.
Cheers
Mike

Hi there,
We have designed a few ecommerce sites now and would be able to give you some advise - personaly we would suggest you integrate a well known/established company like Worldpay into your site as they will process all of the necessary credit card transactions for you (at a small cost obviously but build that into your prices).
Also I would avoid PayPal - there is nothing wrong with them but having to register for something instead of just being able to type your credit card number in will lose you sales.
You can see some of our work on our website (link in footer) but a full ecommerce site will cost you as they are not as straight forward as a brochure site.
Good luck with the business.
