High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR) "the future of digital imaging" per Google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=HDR+photographs+definition).
Nice photographs, corky. I have pleasant memories of a bike ride from Mossley Hill to Beeston Castle some years ago. :PDT11

Thanks CG - Not bad considering it was a damp and miserable day. Of the seven counties visible from up there I could only see Cheshire the cloud was that low :D. We were lazy though, and took the car...:D
HDR - basicallay a range (usually three) photos taken automatically by the camerea at differing exposure levels - Too dark, normal and over-exposed. Software will take take the images and merge them, which helps to enhance the levels of the photograph. Obviously you need a tripod to ensure the 3 photos are identical, though software will try to align them.
Photoshop CS3, Paintshop Pro X2 and Photomatrix will edit HDR (Photomatrix is HDR Dedicated and thought to be the best of the three)
These photos here were also Hue-mapped in PSPX2.
Dawn/Dusk on sunny/part cloudy days are the best times for HDR photos though, because of the shadowing and different light/colourings available.
(stuff I picked up on Flickr) :D. Up to last week I didn't even realise what HDR was and even that my camera had the function!

I love Beeston. Used to go there as a kid and take my own family there regularly. Often they have period re-enactments of what it was like in medieval times and its very interesting. There is a great camp site a mile down the road that puts you right within view of the 2 castles (Beeston and Peckforton) and the view is fantastic. Often the Hot air balloons come over and its very tranquil and "real England". Beeston is a little Jewel well within easy reach of Merseyside and its environs. One of my favourite places in the world.

Have a friend who camps often nearby too. I plan to go again in winter for the best views.

What a perfect site for a castle,...and beautiful too!
Couldn't find it when i went looking, going to go again!:PDT_Piratz_26:
Found the place eventually(roads in Cheshire have lack of road signs) but didn't feel very impressed with it and wasn't worth the fiver admittance. Then the weather went dull.

Sorry Max, coulda told you that. Some nice views, but you get that from a hill...
You could of but didn't.:PDT10
I liked looking at what was left of the castle but that was it. The clouds ruined the Cheshire view for me too.
Kept my driving skills sharp though, loads of drivers coming out of nowhere and stopping all of a sudden, plus i found a decent radio station 106.1 Rock Radio on the FM.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
