I like POTD as it is.
I save my best photos for POTD.

If the months in 2009 are going to be 'themed', it's going to introduce a competitive element, which (IMHO) goes against the friendly posts we've always had.

May----blossom, any May Day processions that still happen in Liverpool.

June and July----holiday pics

September ----Autumn colours

November----Fireworks, bonfires etc.

I agree with Philip about not changing POTD.....but we could introduce a theme of the month as a seperate thread

I think it would be nice to widen the scope a bit......only because then it gives those of us who dont live in Liverpool a chance to participate with a picture of the day........only a suggestion of course..... I will go with the flow:)

I was only looking through the last couple of months POTD and noticed there's a fair few days that don't have anything posted on.

Wouldn't adding a category to each month possibly cause this to happen even more ?

Plus, if you've got a whole month of the same type of photos, I personally think it would really look bland and lose alot of appeal to the general photographer who only takes a photo once in a while and doesn't go out most days.

Maybe I'm talking rubbish, but I think it's really good as it is.

You could add a best pic each month category which could even be turned into a calendar in 2010. Maybe with Voting buttons on each photo added.

You can't broaden the area, because the fact it's liverpool/Merseyside pics is part of what makes it really cool. didn't there used to be a general POTD thread ?

Hi,

POD for 2009 is nearly upon us and I'll be promoting it more. True, it has tailed off this month but It'll pickup again :PDT11
