Cocoa Rooms Yanwath St

has anyone got a pic of the cocoa rooms that used to be on the corner where Yanwath St met Magdala St just off Smithdown Rd?

my aunt was talking about it the other day. her grandad used to frequent it. he used to work at Toxteth Park cemetery. gravedigger during the week and helping people find graves of a sunday.

My nan used to talk about the cocoa rooms and I always thought she was having us on ! :) :) it seems there really was such places. :)

read page 2 of this thread - we have talked about the 'Penny Lean' before. It's a place where homeless people paid to lean on a rope, presumably to get some sleep ... I can't imagine being able to sleep like that !! :shock:
