View Full Version : I have proven my powa (I really mean anyone ever got lost so bad and had mad journeys
Note: This wasn't on purpose to test my ego, I really did get lost In the West Lancashire countryside near Haskayne on Southport Road when my tyre burst. It was very tiring and I'm making humour out of my experience.
I did a two hour cycle to the Lancashire countryside being too stubborn to
splash another fiver for the train but I was going to get a train home on the way back until my tyre burst.
I got lost and cycled on a bad wheel and walked 6 hours to Netherton and got a bus finally on Dunnings road(my bike Is still up there locked) to Dingle, then a 75 from Princes Road to Smithdown.
My dad was too drunk to ring and talk to and my brother didn't know how to get to anywhere In the North( I even had to tell him how to get to the Echo arena to see Whitesnake.) So my mum advised the buses since the Taxi said It was too far and wanted money upfront.
Anyone else ever had any crazy journeys?
I wanted to add humour to this, my legs are so sore that I am feeling like have awesome power like my cartoon hero Zaraki Kenpachi from Bleach.:PDT_Aliboronz_24:
I was Southport road first by some abandoned pub by a canal and walked miles of countryside.
A whole herd of cows stopped their eating to stare at me and they were huge, the farm even had a sign saying It had an award for It's beef. Then horse greeted me from the fence.
After the country walks I ended up In Ince Blundell which i never heard of and there was no phone where the sign said so I carried on till I finally got a bus.
Cows and Farm animals are awesome and when I can finally drive I will go around these places so I don't mess up next time.:PDT_Piratz_26:

Sorry to hear you got so lost Max - there's nothing worse than going in circles around country lanes !! I've done that in Anglesey where the lanes wind around and around for what seems like infinity !! It's exhausting too.
That area you are talking about - I have been around there many times in the car - I have passed through Ince Blundell.
A friend of mine went to the shop - a short bike ride away from where she stays in Anglesey - - she was missing for 2 hours - lost forever in the 'interior' .. she eventually got back exhausted ! ha,ha.
the lanes go on forever and turn into narrow dirt tracks. ha!
Have you got your bike back yet ?
Just been up there, the bike's gone but it's lovely scenery to be lost in isn't it Max. The Ship inn in Haskayne is lovely, canalside. My youngests mate lives there by the Bluebell. If you blink you'd miss Haskayne but following the Liverpool bound signs you'd come past Lydiate hall farm on the right, the Scotch Piper pub then eventually into Maghull. Glad you got back in one piece if a little 'tyred' ;)
Going to look for my bike shortly.
Thats the name I think the ship Inn, It was all boarded up and near a canal.
Going back In August when It's harvesting season.
It'll be the Scarisbrick Hotel that's boarded up, the big one. The Ship inn always does good business and nice food. The Kings Arms is another one on the same stretch of road.
Surprised you couldn't find anything nice in Burscough to photograph, there's a cracking huge mill that is a local landmark up a dead end, the waterfront pub on the bridge with its unusual entrance is there too as well as the barges on the canal below.
Halsall is another nice village within cycling distance with its picture postcard cottages and post office, the Saracens head pub, again canalside and those carved figures on the grass.

Oh Max hope you had a good time before this happened. Hope your bike is still there when you go back, maybe take a map this time or Geds phone number as he seems to know the place well. :)
Yeah, my bike was still locked at the bus stop near Dunnings bridge, I only locked It there because I had to hurry because I saw a bus that took me to Dingle.
Need to go North more, don't know much of North Liverpool unless It's off Queens Drive or If It's Anfield or Everton.
