This group of lasses were hanging around the Thistle Hotel entrance when I assembled them into some sort of order. Celebrating Rachels 30th (loudly), I heard the North East accent and asked them if they were Geordies to derision, boos and hisses 'Nar, wah fram Middlesboro' came the reply to which I shouted 'aha - Smoggies' - which equally didn't go down too well ha ha. They were alright in the end though as I took another 7 of these photos using each of their own cameras.

Great fun pics there Ged.. Heres' one of Club PINK and the PINK car.. Unfortunately the pink car (all in its fur), was ticketed and the next morning was towed down the street.. stripped of its fur totally.. I saw the cop giving it the ticket..taking its photo too...Hours later.. there it drove, above the trolly.... LOL.. and the Pink Fur car is gone forever....or is it???????

Comatose. What I have to put up with en route home. She was in her seat belt and the roads were ours once out of the centre. Notice the time on the cars clock. To coin a line from Del Amitri's 'Nothing ever happens' - By five o'clock everything's dead, and every third car is a cab'. The rest just fall asleep all over each other in the back, courtesy of a long nights drinking and the heat on full blast.

I was there on a ship about 1975 and had a few beers around town. Saw loads of girl groups out on the lash - drunk, loud, and VERY sexually aggressive. Years before I saw anything similar in other towns.

Agree totally with ya Ged. I've never heard so many different accents for a long time. Seeing all the coaches and mini buses bringing folk in too. Was telling some Yanks what to see while in Liverpool the other day, and I've been away for years.

You don't have to go all the way to Anfield for that Spike. Listen to the fans result forecasts on the radio just before kick off, it's very colourful, it's getting hard to distinguish the Cornish from the Danish these days. ;) It's why the kop's so quiet these days, only the Swedish sing in true British - like Abba and Roxette :)

But it only takes a couple,to spoil it for all! Some ex-doormen I know,packed it,mainly because too many punters were "up for it",based on the reputation of these few!

We hear the saying, a few bad apples, and I have seen with my own two eyes these rotten fruits punch and gang attack fellas who didn't leave the club quick enough, spill a drink or got carried away on the dancefloor and took their shirts off. I have also seen girls or women being punched by these thugs. Now I know women can be just as bad as men, but I have seen on more than one occasion a women tell a doorman to eff off for grabbing her only to get a smack of him. I should report each incident I know, but then you have to make the statement, point the finger and risk getting in deep yourself if you do.

I have also witnessed a particular doorman throwing sly digs at lads who are leaving the club, he got me a few years ago, and me and my mate saw him a month or two ago doing it to someone else. The guy he did it to stood on the club steps and asked him to come and do it to his face, the coward who digged him told to step off the step, next minute there was 5 other doorman on the fella. Now it could be the other doorman involved were unaware of this particular doormans antics, but I have heard from so many lads who happen to know him say hes done it to them or to their mates over the years that its got to be common knowledge to the other doorman.

But on the other side of the coin, there is a few cracking lads on the doors, always get the same ones on certain bars and they crack a joke rather than your jaw. These men I always try to think of when the word Doorman gets used, but it is difficult.
