Quincy, I was interested to read in your post (Superlambs thread) - that the forum freezes Firefox. Only yesterday, my son downloaded Firefox and then I couldn't access Yo via my desktop shortcut.
We have tried to use Firefox numerous times and always end up uninstalling it. Our pc doesn't seem to get on with it - things go a bit haywire with it.

I had a problem accessing some sites using Firefox Linda. I have a filtering software for the kids called K9 which was blocking "innocent" sites too. Could it be something else that you have installed that is corrupting the browser?

Not sure.
I'll stick to Internet Explorer - at least it behaves :)
Since my son put Firefox on yesterday - the desktop icons won't work now, even though I took Firefox off again.
I told him off for messing with Firefox and to leave well alone ! :)
I use Firefox with no problems, is your version up to date?

On my computer, Firefox doesn't get on with Yo for some reason; desktop icons for other sites as well as Yoliverpool won't work, and I can't see certain images. Just a blank white box and an alert to tell me about 'plug-ins' required and to install Adobe flash .. which I install - then go back to view post, and image is still blank !
I can't be bothered with Firefox - it does weird things ! When I stick to Internet explorer I have no bother.

There are some compatability issues with Firefox 3 - I can't put me finger on it, it could be a plugin etc.
I'll try to find out what it is. I have no problem at home, but at work, behind a Firewall/Proxy (Which I control :D) its a nightmare. But only one machine, which leads me to think of plugins.
Could be a clue?
I'd stick with v2 for now...

.. and while I'm having a moan about Firefox - - if I enlarge a forum attachment for viewing - I can't click off the image without the whole forum closing down !! So I have to log-in all over again after every viewing !!
Can't be doing with that !
can't see Youtube vids - just a blank box.
Firefox is really strange.

After reading your interesting posts, I thought I'd check out Yo on Firefox on my Macintosh laptop and must say it all seems to be fine.
That said, may I recommend that those of you who are fed up with the clunky IE could try downloading the free- and very fine- Safari browser from Apple's website-
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/safari311.html
It may be a Mac product but it works great on Windows too- just don't forget to download the version for your operating system!
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by this lightweight, hassle-free browser...

I'm using Firefox 3.0.1 on a Mac and although I also have Safari installed, much prefer FF. The Adblock Plus add-on is brilliant —no more bloody flashing ads, or ads of any description and never had a problem.... touch wood!

Firefox3 has started to crash for me and let me open it in safe mode, but now won't open at all. I was told to uninstall it which I did now consequently any emails I get with links wont open at all it's driving me nuts. I have just downloaded IE7 hoping I would be able to open the links but to no avail. Anybody got any ideas, also seem to have lost quite a few of my favourites from the folder. I HATE COMPUTERS. :disgust:
Ps does little memory space play havoc with the computer and cause problems? I need to get rid of some stuff, may have something to do with it. I am asking all the questions in 1 hit as I may never get back to the site again.
Thanks Kathy
